What was involved?
Design, Resource Consent application and project management for the construction of a multi sports complex including, Football, Hockey, Basketball, Cricket, Volleyball, and Kabaddi.
The location of each sporting activity and its lighting were carefully managed to avoid noise and glare effects to the neighbouring residential properties, whilst also ensuring that parking yield was maximised and requirements for stormwater treatment of the parking areas was also appropriately managed.
Also tagged on the project was an Early Child Care Education facility on an adjoining parcel of land, adding to the complexity of acoustic effects being managed in the Resource Consent application. Working with the acoustic and lighting specialists, our planners put together activity management plans that scoped the use of the site at different times for all the events on site so that noise from parking from community events at the temple where also considered alongside the effects and intensity of use of the new sporting facilities. Consultation with neighbours followed with affected party approval being gained from every adjoining property, ensuring a non-notified processing of the Resource Consent.
